Saudi Energy Minister, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, and Bahrain’s Oil Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, will patronise iCCUS 2020, which will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel here.

iCCUS 2020 is among the most important specialised events aimed at exchanging information and expertise, as well as showcasing the latest technology in this vital field, Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS).

Oil Minister, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, valued highly the joint organisation of the major event aimed at consolidating CCUS technology to combat climate change and increase oil production, which will benefit the economy.

He asserted that the event’s organising committee has attracted major companies and prominent senior officials from the oil and environmental sectors, including OPEC Secretary-General, Mohammed Sanusi Barkindo, Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Hiroshi Kajiyama, and Executive Secretary United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Patricia Espinoza, in addition to a number of ministers from the GCC and countries all over the world.

The minister extended sincere thanks and appreciation to the organisers, sponsors, speakers and other participants, wishing them every success, and praising the constant fruitful co-operation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Organised by DMG, in collaboration with the Saudi Energy Ministry, and Bahrain’s National Oil and Gas Authority, and support of Saudi Arabia’s Armco, Bahraini oil companies and world oil companies, the event brings together world energy leaders, including ministers, senior executives from major energy and industry players, policy makers, financiers, and renowned scientists, to discuss the role of Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage in enabling a Circular Carbon Economy.

An exhibition, showcasing the latest hydrogen technologies and products, will be held concurrently at the same venue.
