Bahraini women's economic achievements praised

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), yesterday received Board Chairperson and members, former Heads and founders of Bahrain Businesswomen Society marking the society’s 20th anniversary.

She praised the outstanding economic achievements of Bahraini women and their remarkable role in the business sector.

She underscored SCW’s keenness on backing the national efforts to carry out strategies aimed at further engaging women in a productive and competitive economy.

HRH Princess Sabeeka lauded the role of the founders of Bahrain Businesswomen Society in laying the foundation stone of the first specialised society at the Gulf level concerned with women’s affairs in the commercial field.

She praised the society’s role in boosting economic and social relations between Bahraini businesswomen and enhancing their contribution to economic activities.

HRH Princess Sabeeka listened to a briefing by Bahrain Businesswomen Society Chairperson Ahlam Janahi on the society’s activities and programmes.

Ms Janahi expressed sincerest thanks and gratitude to HRH Princess Sabeeka for her unflinching support to Bahraini women, recalling her contribution as Honorary President of the Society when it was set up in 2000. The meeting also cast light on figures confirming the numerous accomplishments of Bahraini women in the economic field.
