Shura praises efforts to combat COVID-19

The Shura Council has expressed deep pride in the advanced precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom, in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives, to deal with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and prevent its spread in the country. In this regard, the Shura Council lauded the constant interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, as well as his direct oversight over the efforts exerted by the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and his directives to develop an integrated national plan to fight COVID-19.

The Shura Council asserted that the current critical period and the extraordinary health challenges require more national unity, cohesion and solidarity in order to overcome the current situation, stressing that Bahrainis have also proved their cohesion, unity and rallying behind HM the King’s leadership through their implementation of various instructions that ensure their safety and that of the nation. It also paid tribute to the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19), commending the dedicated efforts of its highly-qualified national competencies to address the virus in the most professional way, as well as its transparency and constant keenness to reassure the public and issue the necessary health instructions. The Shura Council valued highly the on-going cooperation and coordination among the relevant public and private institutions in responding positively to instructions on ways to deal with COVID-19, praising the great role played by the affiliates of Bahrain Defence Force, Interior Ministry, Health Ministry, Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Information Affairs Ministry, among others, in combating the virus and keenness to work as a unified team to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the kingdom.
