The Ministry of Health has registered six new Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, which include three female Bahraini nationals, two male Bahraini nationals and one male Saudi national, arriving at Bahrain International Airport via indirect flights from Iran, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 47. As part of the measures taken to combat the spread of the COVID-19 and safeguard the health of citizens and residents, the Ministry of Health has tested a total of 1977 individuals returning from Iran and other COVID-19 affected countries.

A total of 1931 individuals have tested negative, whilst 47 individuals have tested positive and are in a stable condition. The ministry highlighted that all patients that tested positive have been transferred to an isolation centre for treatment and medical care, under the supervision of a specialised medical team. The Ministry of Health further outlined that it is currently implementing a mobile testing process for the 2,292 individuals returning from Iran before the country announced the pandemic, in order to ensure full medical examinations are carried out as per official measures applied to combat the spread of COVID-19, ensuring the continued health and the safety of the community. The Ministry reiterated its call for all individuals returning from Iran to isolate themselves immediately and schedule their medical examinations via www. moh.gov.bh/444 or by contacting hotline no 444, stressing that they should avoid contact with others until the medical examinations are carried out.
