Al Ramli District’s housing units distribution begins

Manama

Following an order by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to distribute 5,000 housing units, in line with the royal directives, Housing Minister, Bassim Al Hamer, has announced that the Ministry has begun distributing the units of the first phase of the “Al Ramli District” housing project.

The minister asserted that the distribution of the Al Ramli project’s units follows the opening of the Salman, Khalifa and East Hidd towns and the beneficiaries’ moving to live there, noting that those steps add to the government’s achievements aimed at implementing His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s order to build 40,000 housing units.

Mr Al Hamer stressed that the new towns are essential in the Housing Ministry’s plan to implement the royal order to build 40,000 housing units nationwide, as well as those included in government’s housing pledges in its current Action Plan, adding that the ministry’s initiatives implemented in partnership with the private sector are endorsed by the government and contribute to honouring the pledges to provide 25,000 units.

The minister pointed out that the distribution of the units of the first phase of the “Al Ramli District” comes after the opening of the project by Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, during the kingdom’s celebrations of the glorious National Day, and the completion of the necessary infrastructure works. He affirmed that the Housing Ministry will carry on its efforts to implement HM the King’s order and the government’s directives through more projects in Bahrain’s new towns, in addition to its endeavours to begin the construction of the East Sitra Project’s units.

The Housing Services Directorate has requested the beneficiaries of the Al Ramli District project to report to the Ministry of Housing to finalise the necessary procedures.
