Holi event cancelled in light of coronavirus outbreak

Manama

In line with the advisories put out by the Government of Bahrain, the 200 Years old Shreenathji Shree Krushna Temple in Manama has cancelled all Holi and Rangotsav celebrations this year. Devotees have been informed about the same and advised to avoid large gatherings.

Mr. Sushil Muljimal, Chairman of the Thattai Hindu Community which manages the Temple, commented, “We fully support the Bahrain Government in all the precautions they are taking to combat the spread of Covid -19.  Normally every year, Holi / Rangotsav (festival of colors) is celebrated with gaiety and enthusiasm not only by Indians but all communities in Bahrain.  We also invite ambassadors and dignitaries who have graced the celebrations in the past.  But this year, we have cancelled the festivities and advised caution to devotees to abide by Government advisories. We are hopeful that with the pragmatic approach of the Ministry of Health, the Kingdom of Bahrain will overcome this phase very soon".
