Artist Ibrahim Khalifa wins the Audience Award at the Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition

The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities announced today the winner of the Audience Award at the Bahrain Annual Exhibition of Fine Arts in its forty-sixth edition, which the artist Ibrahim Khalifa won for his work “Qara Ainy”, where the artist was honored at the Bahrain National Theater in the presence of a director The Culture and Arts Department of the Culture Authority, Mrs. Farah Matar, and a number of the media and cadres of the authority.
On this occasion, Sheikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of Culture and Arts of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities said: "We are always keen on engaging the public in the cultural and artistic movement industry, and this is the second time in a row that the Bahraini public has chosen their favorite artwork in the Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition This reflects the growing interest in plastic arts in the Kingdom of Bahrain, thanks to the continuous work in the Culture Authority to organize artistic events that meet the aspirations of citizens, residents and visitors, the most important of which is the Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition.
The Audience Award comes as an initiative by the Culture Authority to engage the general public in the Kingdom in the process of enhancing the outputs of cultural and artistic work, and to vote for preferred work through a digital platform in one of the exhibition's pillars.
Artist Ibrahim Khalifa expressed his great happiness to win the award, saying that "the audience's choice of him is the greatest proof of the success of his works and their ability to deliver his meaningful message", noting that during his presence in the exhibition he touched a great interaction from those present to the exhibition with his works.
The artist Khalifa said that he is keen annually to participate in the Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition, which is graciously sponsored by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the distinguished Prime Minister, may God protect and preserve him, stressing that His Highness’s sponsorship of the exhibition contributed to giving him a continuous momentum and elevated his level to become one One of the best art galleries in Bahrain and the region.
Bahraini artists and residents residing in the Kingdom, numbering 68, will participate in the Bahrain Annual Exhibition for Fine Art, which will run until March 15, 2020. They present works belonging to all schools and technical trends, as there are many ways of forming and manufacturing and varying between sculpture, photography, graphic arts and drawing Using various materials, materials and shapes, as well as video and installation works. Also participating in the exhibition are a number of pioneers of the Bahraini art movement, both the art gallery space from the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Contemporary Art Platform (CAP) from the State of Kuwait.
It is noteworthy that the "Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition" has been held since 1972 under the gracious patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the distinguished Prime Minister, may God protect and preserve him, and is the largest and most important annual art gathering held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Over the years, the exhibition attracted the most prominent faces of the fine movement in the Kingdom from pioneers in addition to young artistic talents, to reflect with great merit the comprehensiveness of the Bahraini plastic art experience, which forms an important part of the local cultural movement.
