The Kingdom has been successful until now when it comes to tackling the Coronavirus threat, it emerged. All preparations taken by the country to combat the virus has won praise from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The recent WHO report commending Bahrain is testimony to the global recognition of the Kingdom’s efforts, said Infectious Diseases Consultant and Microbiologist at the BDF Hospital and Member of the National Task Force for Combating the Coronavirus, Lieutenant Colonel Dr Manaf Al Qahtani, during a press conference yesterday.
The Kingdom’s efforts and comprehensive strategy to combat COVID-19, led by HRH the Crown Prince, is designed to ensure citizens and residents health remains the top priority, he said. “The Kingdom’s commitment to combating the spread of the virus has set a good example to other countries.
Health professionals, a crucial component of Team Bahrain, should be commended for their tireless work to ensure the health and safety of citizens and residents is safeguarded. “The surge in active COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours have been cases flagged at Bahrain’s entry points. There remain no local cases (community) in Bahrain.”
Edu measures reviewed
Deputy Premier and President of the Supreme Council for the Development of Education and Training, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, chaired a meeting dedicated to reviewing the efforts of the Ministry of Education during the preventive suspension and the measures taken by the ministry.
Education Minister briefed the council on the steps taken by the ministry to deal with the extraordinary situation, including the services currently available on the ministry’s educational portal. He also referred to the actions accomplished by the teams of various sectors of the ministry in terms of the curriculum and the intensification of work related to the design and download of enrichment courses on the portal.
30 more discharged
The Ministry of Health yesterday announced that 30 individuals have been discharged after completing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period, bringing the total number of individuals discharged from quarantine to 68. The ministry outlined that the individuals,16 male Bahrainis, 12 female Bahrainis, a Chinese male and a female Indonesian, tested negative for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) before being discharged.
The ministry noted that all quarantined individuals are being monitored and cared for by a specialised medical team, in line with guidelines established by the World Health Organisation, to guarantee the health and safety of the community
