Housing projects ‘on fast track’

Housing Minister Bassim Al Hamer has stressed that the Housing Ministry gives top priority to the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, in implementing its final services and infrastructure plans at Salman City and the New Bahrain Cities projects.

He affirmed the ministry’s keenness to provide all services and public amenities in those cities in co-ordination with the competent authorities. The minister pointed out that the ministry is currently reviewing implementation of the procedural schemes for general plans approved for the new cities.

He noted that the New Bahrain Cities projects are given a great importance by the government be it in terms of building the units or providing public services and infrastructure.

He added that building the new cities is a main pillar in carrying out social housing projects included in plans to implement the royal order to build 40,000 housing units. He underlined the housing commitments included in the Government Action Plan, pointing out HRH the Crown Prince’s continuous follow-up on this issue.  

The Housing Minister was speaking during an inspection visit to Salman City, in the presence of Housing Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Assistant Undersecretary for Housing Projects Sami Abdullah Buhaza, officials and architects.

He got updated on the ministry’s readiness to launch new projects within the efforts to provide 25,000 housing units included in the Government Action Plan and stemming from the royal order to build 40,000 housing units.

The Housing Minister inspected the sites allocated to build 303 housing units and 1402 flats in the city for which tenders have been completed in preparation to start the construction work.
