Minister, Bahrain Agricultural Cooperative Society discuss initiatives to advance agriculture sector

The agriculture sector is receiving great attention from the government to enhance its contributions to achieving self-sufficiency, Minister of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Esam bin Abdullah Khalaf has said.
Food security in the Kingdom is an important base for generations, which has led the ministry to take the lead in the advancement of the agricultural sector through projects based on directives of HM the King, the minister added as he received MP Ahmed Al Demistani and the board members of Bahrain Agricultural Cooperative Society.
The meeting discussed proposals to assist farmers as well as a range of initiatives that support the strategy to upgrade the agricultural sector.
