TDT | Manama

An eye clinic has been closed down after a COVID-19 patient visited the clinic, it is learnt. The well-known ophthalmology clinic made the announcement yesterday. The clinic will remain shut for two weeks.

The clinic stated that all of its employees has agreed to be isolated for two weeks as a precautionary measure. The clinic confirmed this on its Instagram account. This comes after the Ministry of Health closed a coffee shop in Sanad following a visit by a Corona patient there.

To date, there has been no registered community cases (local human-to-human transmission) in the Kingdom and the government will continue to take all necessary actions in line with WHO guidelines to protect the public from imported cases.

Meanwhile, following the Cabinet’s directives, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called upon all Bahraini citizens not to travel in this period unless absolutely necessary, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in a number of countries, in order to ensure their safety and health. The Foreign Ministry also stressed the need to follow instructions when having to travel.

The Cabinet chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister on Monday urged citizens to be cautious and follow preventive health guidelines procedures introduced to contain the spread of COVID-19, particularly amidst its outbreak across a large number of countries globally.
