Salons require ‘tight monitoring’

Salons must be closely monitored due to the risk of COVID-19, the Southern Municipality stated yesterday. The municipality intensely discussed the issue of hygiene and cleanliness and the risk of transmission of COVID-19 from salons in their session yesterday.
Salons must use strict measures such as gloves and disinfectants to avoid the spread of Coronavirus, the Council observed. The Council suggested that there are possibilities that barber shops and salons for men and women can become a source of transmission for the Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has stepped up efforts to spread awareness about coronavirus as they urge residents and citizens to take ‘hygiene measures’ The ministry has urged citizens and residents to take various measures to protect themselves from Coronavirus. Ministry sources said that educational campaigns are in full swing to create awareness in the public about the novel Coronavirus. The modes used to create awareness include traditional media, social media and even SMS campaign which was recently done.
