MoFA summons Iranian diplomat

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday summoned Charge d’affaires of Embassy of Iran, Mohammed Redha Baba’e, and presented him with a formal memorandum of protest, in view of the statements issued lately by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary, Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, expressed Bahrain’s strong condemnation and rejection of the statements, which is an unacceptable interference in internal affairs and violation of principles of the United Nations.
The statements adversely affect the security and stability of the region and the nature of relations between its countries, the undersecretary said.
He stressed on the need to have full compliance with the principles of good neighbourliness and non-interference in internal affairs of the Kingdom and respecting its sovereignty and independence.
The undersecretary also called for an immediate end to such irresponsible statements and other forms of interference.
Lebanese chargé d’affaires also summoned
Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla said the recent statements by Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of the terrorist Hezbollah group, were blatant interference in the internal affairs and a clear infringement on the sovereignty and independence of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The statements also carry a flawed and biased description of the situation in Bahrain, aimed to damage relations between brothers, the undersecretary said as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Lebanon to the Kingdom, Ibrahim Elias Assaf, and presented him an official memorandum of protest.
