Batelco announces operating remotely for its employees

In line with the decisions of the Coordination Committee chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister, concerned with the urge to implement the work remotely whenever the possibility is available, Batelco has taken serious steps to implement this decision, and accordingly activating the remote work practice starting on today, March 19th.

The executive management team in the company has held periodic meetings to discuss the equipment of work remotely several weeks ago, where departments and work teams have been identified that can conduct work remotely and thus provide them with devices and systems that enable them to perform their work with the usual efficiency without any impact. As for the employees whose work requires being in the workplace, they were counted according to studied criteria, taking into consideration the reduction of the numerical density in the closed places.

Batelco Chief Executive Officer Mikel Venter commented: “As a national company, we are committed to contributing to the success of the national campaign to combat the Corona Virus and supporting the efforts launched by the Kingdom of Bahrain to address the spread of this epidemic. In this context, we announced the start of the implementation of the remote work policy starting from Thursday for more than 70% of the company’s employees, as part of our commitment to reduce the mixing rate in the company while maintaining operational performance.

He added, “In addition, the company has taken precautionary and preventive measures in the company’s main building and branches to counter the virus and secure the health of employees and customers, such as carrying out periodic sterilization operations and educational messages and giving paid leave to employees coming from outside Bahrain that are in line with the instructions issued by the Ministry of Health.”
