MP calls for female teachers to be allowed to work from home

TDT | Manama

A Bahraini MP has called on the Ministry of Education to allow female teachers to work from home.

MP Ibrahim Khalid Al Nafei explained yesterday that their current presence in schools and educational institutions is ineffective, and that it is important to recognise their equality with the rest of their counterparts in the administrative sector.

Al Nafei explained that he received multiple communications from teachers in various government schools stressing the possibility of performing their duties from home, especially with the current importance given to distance education.

He stressed that such a move would positively affect the stability and health of Bahraini families. It is also necessary for all parties to take precautionary measures to protect employees from the coronavirus outbreak, given that each individual is important to the nation as a whole.
