In line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to enable mothers affiliated with ministries, government bodies and institutions to work from home, the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) issued instruction 5/2020 on distance work for working mothers, starting Sunday earlier this week.

Under the instruction, ministries, entities and government departments shall allow their working mothers to carry out their duties from home until further notice, CSB president Ahmed bin Zayed Al Zayed, said.

He indicated that government departments shall coordinate with the CSB to ensure that working mothers continue their work in vital sectors, particularly health, to serve the nation and its citizens and residents.

Al Zayed added that in case working mothers account for less than 50 per cent of the total number of employees at a concerned government institution, the remaining percentage will be applied to the remaining staff, in accordance with the provisions of CSB’s Instruction 4/2020 on the implementation of teleworking for public sector employees.
