Middle East Hospital to care for asymptomatic COVID-19 positive patients

TDT | Manama

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) yesterday announced Middle East Hospital as a provider of care to asymptomatic COVID-19 positive patients. The NHRA said in a post on its social media account that it has granted permission for Middle East Hospital to accept asymptomatic COVID-19 positive patients who wish to receive care in a private hospital setting.

The care will be provided at the Park Regis Hotel in Juffair, which has been set up as a COVID-19 positive health care facility. The care of the patients will be under the supervision of qualified medical staff affiliated with Middle East Hospital, in accordance with the standards and guidelines applied in the Ministry of Health, the NHRA stated.

Admissions will only be accepted by calling 444. The NHRA Middle East Hospital and Medical Centres stated in a separate social media post that they stand in solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the fight against COVID-19.

For queries, contact the Park Regis reception on 17362220, or mobile numbers 39887443 or 36346331. Meanwhile, the NHRA also announced the implementation of some procedures to speed up the import of medical devices in order to avoid a shortage of supplies in Bahrain.

The procedures include the reduction of required importation documents to quality assurance certificates only. In addition, the NHRA will speed up all pre-booked appointments. The NHRA further urges all importers to adhere to the quality and safety standards in importing medical devices.
