Jail sentences for lawyer, businessman for violating selfisolation orders

A Bahraini lawyer and an expatriate businessman have been sentenced to three months behind bars each for failing to abide by orders for home quarantine, the Public Prosecution announced yesterday in a statement.
The pair returned recently to the Kingdom of Bahrain from coronavirus-affected states and were ordered by competent authorities to self-isolate for 14 days, to ensure they did not contract the virus.
However, the lawyer headed to the courtrooms to look after some cases she was handling, while the businessman went to Bahrain International Airport. According to the statement, the lawyer will be put under house arrest during her jail term, while the businessman will be deported once he fully serves his prison time.
