Face mask prices fixed

Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed R. Al Zayani issued yesterday an edict fixing the price of face masks and ensuring their availability amid soaring demand as the country battles the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The surgical and N95 types of face masks will be 140 fils and BD1.4, respectively, as a maximum selling price for the consumer per piece for a period of three months from the date of implementation of the provisions of this edict. Also under the edict, it is prohibited to export all kinds of medical face masks for a period of three months, unless permitted by the Ministry. Violators of these provisions shall be punished.
