BMS seeks financial rewards to medical and health cadres

The Bahrain Medical Society (BMS) expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and to the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and their directives that contributed to Bahrain to have an internationally advanced position in the successful efforts to tackle the emerging coronavirus (COVID- 19).

The Society highly valued the unlimited great support of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister for medical and nursing cadres and volunteers in the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting the praise of His Highness to their efforts for the call of duty, and harnessing their full potentials to be in the first line of defence to maintain health security in the Kingdom.

 The Society also noted the great efforts made by His Royal Highness, Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister as the head of “Team Bahrain", which resulted in complete readiness to fight (COVID-19) following an integrated work system, and His Highness's directives to continue all precautionary measures to protect Bahrainis and residents from the risk of infection and provide all necessary health and medical care to them.

Dr Ghada Al Qassim, Chairman of the Bahrain Medical Society, said that the doctors in the Kingdom of Bahrain received with great pleasure the directives of His Highness the Prime Minister to study the appropriate mechanism for their appreciation and remuneration, during his recent reception to His Excellency, the team Doctor, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and head of the national team to tackle coronavirus.

“The doctor affiliated with the “BMS” were heartened to hear such great news,  as they were hoping to get rewarded a hazard pay and asked the society Board of Directors to follow up on the implementation of this reward from His Excellency the Prime Minister, affirming their eagerness to continue to work with sincerity and dedication that embody the highest noble human meanings and values for the medical profession, and “BMS” will follow up this issue with the concerned authorities in a manner that ensures the speedy implementation of this honourable directives.”, Dr Al Qassim said.

“I’m confident that the doctors will receive the financial support they seek over the coming period, especially that the medical and health cadres in the Kingdom of Bahrain are receiving all the support and attention from the rational leadership, governmental and private institutions,  Bahraini community also shows of feelings of love, respect and sincere appreciation towards those cadres fighting in the front lines to protect the Bahraini society from the spread of "COVID 19" and keeping matters under control till it’s eliminated, God willing.” Dr Al Qassim added.
