The National Institution for Human Rights begins field visits to isolation and quarantine centres

The National Institution for Human Rights confirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has taken precautionary measures and preventive measures to limit the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19), and through these measures, it has recognized human rights, such as the right to health, which is a fundamental human right, and the right In privacy, in addition to adopting transparency and clarity in the transmission of information, the Kingdom continues to enhance its position in respecting human rights at the regional and international levels.

Today, the National Institution announced that in order to activate its supervisory role in its establishment law, and within its plan to follow up the application of standards related to the protection and promotion of human rights in examination, isolation and quarantine procedures in such exceptional circumstances, the institution’s visit to the institution’s places of detention and facilities began field visits to isolation, treatment, and precautionary quarantine centres, Interviewing medical teams and communicating with some isolated and quarantined to see in practice the availability of human rights to be observed in such circumstances and procedures to ensure safety, nutrition and hygiene and access to health care provided to them, Support services in line with the preventive measures recognized by the World Health Organization.

She added that the committee will continue to conduct field visits to different sites and meet with the concerned parties to ensure that appropriate standards are applied in this regard and to provide health and psychological advice to the isolated and quarantined in a manner consistent with human rights
