The Ministry of Health, in coordination with local authorities, continued conducting random coronavirus (COVID-19) tests throughout the Kingdom, in order to safeguard the well-being of citizens and residents. As part of the ongoing series of testing, mobile units collected random samples from citizens and residents yesterday in A’Ali, Al Hidd, Sanabis, Riffa and Juffair, conducting a total of 850 tests for the virus.
Throughout the process, the mobile testing units shared information regarding COVID-19 and the ways in which infections can be avoided. This remains part of the Ministry’s mandate to ensure that all segments of society understand the threat of the virus and are contributing towards its mitigation by wearing a facemask in public settings, practicing social distancing, and washing their hands frequently and thoroughly, in addition to using an alcohol-based sanitiser.
The Ministry reminded citizens and residents of the importance of adhering to health recommendations and encouraged all to stay at home. The number of registered active COVID-19 cases in Bahrain went over the 1,000-mark yesterday. As of last night, the total cases was 1,003, all but three of which were stable. The number of discharged patients increased to 663, while the total tested went up to 73,272.
