HH Shaikh issues edict restructuring “Estijabah” Committee

HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, issued an edict, restructuring the Coordination, Implementation and Follow-up Committee, Estijabah (Response).

Under the edict, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will be Chairman of the committee, and HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa will be its Deputy Chairman.

The edict crowns the tremendous efforts exerted by HH Shaikh Khalid in Hamad to develop the youth and sports sector, in accordance with the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser to implement the goals of “Estijabah” as a national programme that emanates from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project and the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, within the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030.

Members of the committee include Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyad, Abdulla Jehad Al-Zain, Dr Abdulrahman Askar, Mohammed Al-Nusuf and Mohammed Al-Ajmi.

HH Shaikh Nasser directed that the committee to give priority to creating an integrated system that brings together all the relevant sports parties to enhance cooperation among them, discuss work mechanisms and implement joint development projects that would ensure the continuous development of the youth and sports movement in the kingdom.

HH Shaikh Nasser launched the “Estijabah” Programme in April 2018 as a national initiative aimed at developing the youth and sports sector.
