HH Shaikh Nasser issues edict restructuring ‘Estijabah’ committee

His Majesty the King’s Humanitarian and Youth Affairs representative, National Security Advisor and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa issued an edict yesterday, restructuring the Coordination, Implementation and Follow-up Committee “Estijabah” (Response). Under the edict, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy-chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa will be the committee chairman, and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa will be its deputy-chairman.

The edict crowns the tremendous efforts exerted by HH Shaikh Khalid to develop the youth and sports sector, in accordance with the directives of HH Shaikh Nasser to implement the goals of “Estijabah” as a national programme that emanates from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project and the vision of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, within the Economic Vision for Bahrain 2030.

Committee members include Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyad, Abdulla Jehad Al Zain, Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Mohammed Al Nusuf and Mohammed Al Ajmi. HH Shaikh Nasser directed that the committee give priority to creating an integrated system that brings together all the relevant sports parties to enhance cooperation among them, discuss work mechanisms, and implement joint development projects that would ensure the continuous growth of the youth and sports movement in the Kingdom. HH Shaikh Nasser launched the “Estijabah” programme in April of 2018 as a national initiative aimed at developing the youth and sports sector.
