Remote educational support provided

TDT | Manama

The Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has started delivering remote educational support services for the children of health and medical staff who are at the front-line in combatting the coronavirus (COVID-19). The move is within the “Together for Bahrain’s Safety” campaign, launched by the SCW upon directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and SCW president.

The campaign aims to support Bahraini women and families by determining their needs and meeting them in cooperation with partners. The SCW said that it had provided teachers in coordination with the Bahrain Education Trade Union (BETU), in addition to a number of volunteers from the National Volunteering Platform, to deliver virtual teaching support with the highest levels of efficiency and commitment.

The SCW added that it had coordinated with the parents, consulted the BETU on the implementation mechanisms and the distribution of teachers, and held a remote meeting with the volunteers on the tasks assigned to them.

The SCW indicated that it aims to target students from all levels, inform them about how to use the electronic platform, show parents how to follow up on their children’s learning, as well as ways to follow daily lessons.

The SCW said that the “Together for Bahrain’s Safety” campaign targets four fields: educational support, family support, instant service, and family and legal consultations, in addition to the economic support.
