British Ambassador to Bahrain Roderick Drummond has praised the preemptive measures taken by Bahrain to curb the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). He stressed that they protect the community and the national economy and allow for the continuation of work in all sectors and institutions. In a round-table meeting yesterday with representatives of the local press via Visual Communication Technology (VCT), Ambassador Drummond lauded the awareness of the Bahraini society, saying that the Kingdom has been able to set a model to emulate in drawing long-term plans to protect the economy and people as part of the efforts made to combat COVID-19.

The British Ambassador commended strong and distinguished relations between Bahrain and the UK, which span for more than 200 years. He voiced a keenness on enhancing economic cooperation after handling COVID-19. He pointed out the commitment of all institutions to the regulations issued by Bahrain in terms of social distancing, and commended the key role played by educational establishments to ensure continuity of education. Ambassador Drummond pointed out that the growing interest in fighting COVID-19 does not imply neglecting key regional issues. Instead, all are ready to face any potential challenges in the region.
