Information Minister praises role of legislative branch

Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi praised the role of the legislative branch in backing the government’s efforts in combatting the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Al Romiahi lauded cooperation between the legislative and executive branches in national building, stressing that solidarity will remain cherished.

He commended the valuable directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the close follow-up of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the efforts of the Bahrain taskforce spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. The Information Minister was speaking as he received members of the Representatives Council yesterday, including Isa Ali Al Qadhi, Ali Isa Ishaqi, Ahmed Mohammed Al Amer, Ammar Al Bannei, Mohammed Isa Al Abbasi and Ammar Al Abbas.

He pointed out the role of the media in highlighting the importance of the legislature and its achievements, and spotlighting cooperation between the executive and legislative branches to fulfill citizens’ aspirations. The Information Minister underlined the tremendous efforts of the media persons in Bahrain, mainly amid the current circumstances, to raise social awareness and shed light on the Kingdom’s achievements in combatting COVID-19. He also reviewed programmes of the Information Ministry for the Holy Month of Ramadan, pointing out challenges posed by the preemptive measures to curb the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Representatives Council members underscored the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive branches to serve the supreme interests of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the media field, and enable media institutions to perform their national role amid the current circumstances. They also underlined the key role played by the Information Ministry, mainly in this critical phase around the world, stressing their full support and thanking media staff for their dedicated work.
