Health centres launch medicine home delivery

TDT | Manama

Health centres in the Kingdom have launched the chronic disease medicine home delivery service to ensure the health, safety and comfort of patients. The service is part of the precautionary measures implemented by Bahrain to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Health Ministry’s Primary Care assistant undersecretary Dr Manal Al Alawi indicated that those wishing to benefit from the new e-service must provide the required information through the link on the Ministry’s website moh.gov. bh.

They will then receive their medicines within two working days after the receipt of the order. Pharmacy staff at the health centres will, upon receipt of the electronic requests, prepare the medicines, based on the approved medical prescription available in the patient’s electronic file in the I-Seha system.

The medication will then be delivered to the patient’s addresses on the date specified by them, she said, noting that the recipient of medicines should show the patient’s ID. Health centres call on patients to take advantage of this e-service, by visiting the following link: moh.gov.bh/eServices/Hcpharmacy.

There, patients will be able to book their medicine home delivery date online. They may also call 39612402 to inquire about medicines, or call 80007000 to enjoy a remote medical examination and request a medical prescription.

Registration for the new service will begin today, and the home delivery of medicines will start from Tuesday. Patients are requested to book any deliveries five days before the end of their previous medicine reserve. The Health Ministry noted that controlled medications are not included in the new e-service.
