Bahrain welcomes Germany’s designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation

Bahrain yesterday hailed the designation of Lebanese militant and political group Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation by Germany. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said the move reflects Germany’s keenness to fight terrorist organisations, regardless of who supports or funds them.
Germany banned all of Hezbollah’s activities in the country and ordered raids on sites police say are linked to the group. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation of Germany’s incessant efforts to combat terrorism. The statement also called on the international community to counter all forms of terrorism and consolidate cooperation for more deterrent measures against all organisations that threaten international peace and security.
