A total of 23,000 Iftar meals will be distributed to quarantine facilities and temporary sheltering centres nation-wide. This follows an agreement between Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) secretary-general and “Feena Khair” head coordinator Dr Mustafa Al Sayed and Public Security Operations Affairs and Training assistant chief Brigadier Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
In a meeting between the pair, Dr Al Sayed stressed the success of the “Feena Khair” campaign which was launched to support the National Taskforce for Combatting Coronavirus (COVID-19), led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
The drive followed directives from His Majesty the King’s Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs representative, National Security Advisor and RHF Board of Trustees chairman His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Dr Al Sayed and Brigadier Dr Shaikh Hamad discussed cooperation between the RHF and the Ministry of Interior. They agreed that the distribution of the 23,000 Iftar meals will be with the participation of volunteers.
It was also agreed to arrange with the suppliers of the meals to include productive families affiliated with the RHF and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development.
Brigadier Dr Shaikh Hamad hailed the success of the “Feena Khair” campaign, lauding Bahrainis’ loyalty to His Majesty the King. He underlined the directives issued by the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to implement the royal directives, in coordination with the RHF.
The committee features officials representing the RHF, the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the Ministry of Education, the Labour and Social Development Ministry, the Ministry of Health, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
