Ramadan initiative launched to help girls stay in school

Afkarech Female Network and Think Tank has launched a Ramadan initiative that will provide school tuition fees over the months of April, May and June for girls whose families have fallen upon hard times amidst the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.
Afkarech has partnered with schools such as The Asian School, The Pakistan School, Philippine School and Bangladesh School, among others, to ensure that girls from underprivileged families continue their education.
Afkarech are including female students from Bahrain, India, Pakistan, the Philippines and Bangladesh as beneficiaries of this initiative. In line with this, Afkarech is calling for donations, as little as BD 10, this Ramadan, to help support a student’s life with the gift of knowledge.
“Come join us in this noble initiative and together we can raise more funds for a better future for our little girls,” said an Afkarech message. “Please come forward and donate (every little bit helps) and spread this message. The more we raise, the more girls we can help educate.”
Donations can be made directly into the Afkarech bank account using the IBAN number BH48BBKU00100000386530 or via Benefit Pay.
Afkarech is requesting donors to send e-mails (info@afkarech. com) should they wish for their donation to be recorded, in order to receive information on how the donation helped the children in need. The initiative is being held until the end of Ramadan.
