Information Minister marks Bahrain Press Day

Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi praised the responsible patriotic role of the Bahraini press and its honourable presence as a key partner in maintaining the nation’s security and stability.
The press preserves its identity and boosts its achievements in light of the pioneering development and democratic march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, he said.
The Information Minister extended sincerest congratulations to the media and press community on Bahrain Press Day, which is being observed today, in line with an initiative that reflects the unlimited support of His Majesty the King to press and media freedom.
He underlined the keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, on ensuring mass media perform their professional duties in serving the nation and citizens.
He also commended the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, in this respect.
The Information Minister affirmed that observing Bahrain Press Day is a national opportunity for the press and media community to reiterate commitment to the national fundamentals of allegiance to HM the King, and keenness to continue the awareness and enlightenment role in preserving social unity, promoting good citizenship.
This helps foster noble humanitarian values of tolerance and moderation while confronting rumours and misleading campaigns.
