MoH reports 330 new active cases

Bahrain’s Ministry of Health yesterday detected 330 new active cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in the Kingdom, bringing the total number of active cases here to 2,711.

Of the newly reported cases, 239 are expatriate workers, and 91 contacts of active cases, the ministry said on its twitter handle. With this, the total reported coronavirus cases here reached 4,774.

According to the ministry’s webpage, 2709 of the total active cases are stable, while two people are in critical conditions. The authorities also discharged 27 people from isolation and treatment centres yesterday, bringing the total recoveries to 2055.

Till now, eight people succumbed fighting the virus in the Kingdom. The authorities are also swiftly moving ahead with virus testing with the Kingdom completing 178,353 tests, by carrying out 6,587 tests in the past 24 hours.

The total number of virus cases in the Kingdom per 1 million population is 2,700, according to world meter website. Total tests conducted per 1 m population is 104,201.

Meanwhile, neighbouring Saudi Arabia reported 1,704 new virus cases and 10 deaths yesterday, taking the total confirmed cases there to 37,136 and deaths to 239. As of yesterday, the Kingdom reported 1,024 recoveries, bringing the total recovered cases to 10,144.

In UAE, the total number of deaths reached 185, as the kingdom reported addition 11 casualties yesterday. Total virus cases now at 17,417 and recoveries at 4,295. Kuwait reported two more death yesterday and 415 new cases bringing total cases there to 7,623.

The total death toll is 49 and recoveries 2,622. Oman continues to remain as the lowest infected in the GCC. The total cases there is now 3,224 with it reporting 112 new cases yesterday. The total toll is 17.
