Residence permit, visit visa guidelines confirmed
TDT | Manama
The Ministry of Interior confirmed yesterday a set of guidelines issued by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) on residence permits and visit visas. The NPRA stated in an infographic posted on the Interior Ministry’s official account on social networking service Twitter that all fees associated with all types of residence permits are waived until the end of the year.
It also stated that the length of stay periods for cancelled and expired residence permits are automatically extended until year’s end. Visit visas, meanwhile, are automatically extended for three months.
The extensions of both the residence permits and visit visas are free of charge, and they do not need to be applied for. These guidelines are part of the implementation of the directives of the Executive Committee, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to promote the national efforts against the spreading of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
They are also part of the follow-up of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. For those with inquiries, contact the NPRA on the details indicated on the infographic.
