Asian remanded for offering illegal transportation services

TDT | Manama

An Asian man has been remanded for offering transportation services without a permit. The man has been interrogated by the Public Prosecution and referred to the concerned court for trial.

The 46-year-old was arrested around five hours after he offered to drop a Bahraini man from the Driving School in A’ali to Manama for a fee of BD3. The Bahraini man, who was apparently in the school to renew his driving license, played along and filmed the entire process, showing the Asian man leading him from the school to his vehicle, which was parked in the vicinity of the school.

As shown in the video, the Asian man opened the door for the Bahraini and invited him inside the car in chauffeur-like behaviour. There were also other passengers in the back seat of the car.

The Bahraini man shared the video on social media platforms with a message to the General Directorate of Traffic, demanding the arrest of the Asian man after he filmed his vehicle’s registration plate number. The directorate soon confirmed the arrest of the man in a tweet.
