The Verdicts Implementation Directorate has launched the “Fael Khair” (person of goodwill) service, under the patronage of the Interior Minister. The facility allows individuals to donate money for those who have been sentenced in financial cases.
The directorate announced in February about the soon-to-be-launched app that would include cases that meet the criteria. Verdicts Implementation Director Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa said that the service was part of the directives of Interior Ministry Legal Affairs assistant undersecretary Major-General Mohammed Rashid Buhamood.
He said that the app could be accessed through Islamiyat and Sadad, in which any amount could be contributed without the need to reveal the identity of the donor. The app also offers a fund-raising service for cases that need urgent donation.
Shaikh Khalid said that the cases are studied and reviewed by a special committee before being listed in the app. The service is a cooperation between the directorate, the Information and eGovernment Authority, the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture, the Financial Affairs Directorate, and the Information Technology and E-Systems Directorate.
