Works Ministry maintaining 181 parks, gardens

The works ministry has prepared an integrated system to expand and maintain the green spaces in the Kingdom, said Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf, the Minister of Works, Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning.
The project, the minister said, aims at increasing the percentage of afforestation in the Kingdom. The ministry said it’s maintaining 181 parks and gardens in the Kingdom, of which 43 are in the capital governorate, 60 in the southern governorate, 40 in the northern governorate and 38 in Muharraq.
Minister Khalaf added: ”The Ministry attaches great importance in increasing the percentage of green spaces in Bahrain, and is planning several projects to preserve its aesthetic and environmental landscape.”
