HM the King supports global calls for solidarity to combat COVID-19

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed Bahrain’s keenness on cooperation and solidarity to consolidate human fraternity, in light of the current difficult conditions facing humanity.

“Human cooperation represents the only way to combat this global pandemic and contain its fallout,” HM the King said, wishing all people in the world health, security and safety to overcome this critical phase.

HM the King was speaking as he received at Al Safriya Palace yesterday, in the presence of HM the King’s Personal Representative HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence board of trustees members led by chairman Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

The board chairman briefed HM the King on Bahrain’s participation in the “Prayer for Humanity” last Thursday, which followed a call by the High Committee for Human Fraternity. HM the King had expressed support for the interfaith prayers, which brought together religious scholars and prominent social and cultural personalities.

HM the King thanked the board chairman and members, commending their good efforts to support the centre’s mission and promote Bahrain’s civilized and honourable image to the world.

He lauded the centre’s initiatives to cultivate the values of goodness, tolerance, coexistence, amity and peace and reiterated support to all global calls to harness solidarity and compassion between all human beings as the world grapples with the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
