Bahrain’s active COVID-19 cases surpass 4,000 mark

The total number of active coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Bahrain went over the 4,000-mark for the first time yesterday after the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 209 new active cases.
From these, 142 are among expatriate workers while 67 are contacts of other active cases. Following their detection, the total number of active cases rose to 4,034, as of late last night. Eight of these active cases are critical, while the rest are stable.
The Health Ministry also announced yesterday 148 recoveries from COVID-19. After confirming that the patients are free of the virus, they have been discharged from isolation and treatment centres. The total number of recoveries, as of last night, reached 2,910.
The total tested went to 236,828. Meanwhile, in line with the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s plan to evacuate all Bahraini nationals abroad following the spread of COVID-19, Bahrain’s Embassy in New Delhi and the Consulate General in Mumbai facilitated the return of citizens from India, the Health Ministry announced.
The embassy and consulate general expressed thanks and appreciation to the local authorities concerned for their cooperation to ensure the safe return of Bahraini citizens.
