The Ministry of Health announced yesterday the deaths of a 73-year-old Bahraini woman and a 40-yearold expatriate man, who were registered active cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The man had been suffering from underlying and chronic health problems.

They both had been placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team, the Health Ministry said. Their passing brought the coronavirus-related death toll in the Kingdom to 26, with four in just two days.

Meanwhile, 412 additional recoveries from COVID-19 were announced, bringing the total discharged to 9,468. There were also 380 new active cases, which included 186 expatriate workers, 184 contacts of active cases, and 10 travel-related.

Their detection brought the total number of active cases to 5,269, while the overall number of confirmed cases in Bahrain neared 15,000. Of the active cases, 80 were currently receiving treatment, with 12 in critical condition. The remaining 5,257 cases were stable. The total tested increased to 367,056.
