Health Ministry draws up training strategy for medical graduates

TDT | Manama

The Ministry of Health has drawn up a strategy to train medical graduates, in line with the directives of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The plan is based on a study conducted by a committee in charge of scrutinising the situation of graduates of human and dental medicine, as well as interns who need practical training, to meet graduation requirements and obtain a bachelor’s degree in medicine.

Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh extended her deepest thanks and gratitude to HRH the Premier, hailing his directives and support to the health and education sectors. She lauded HRH the Prime Minister’s keen interests in enabling Bahraini students to obtain quality medical education in order to ensure outstanding health services to citizens and residents.

The committee studied all applications and endorsed the enrollment of all medical interns in training programmes, taking into account needed requirements. The committee which surveyed the number of dental students is now seeking to find appropriate solutions, either to provide them with local training that suits the requirements of their overseas universities or draw up alternative programmes that meet their training needs.
