Portal launched for children to benefit from online opportunities
Manama
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has launched an electronic portal for children and youth clubs to avoiding gatherings and mixings during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
"Following the decision to suspend studies in public and private schools and to activate distance learning to protect the students, the ministry has been keen on finding safe alternatives for children and young adults during the summer vacation," Aisha Mohammed Al Zaid, Director of the Family and Child Development, said.
"In order to help the children and their parents with ways to spend the spare time, the ministry opted for an online club for children and young adults that will contribute to spreading awareness and benefiting from the availability of the electronic equipment."
The portal will boost communication among club members and will offer interactive activities and programs that children can use from home, she added.
