Southern Governorate fire risks awareness campaign discussed

Southern Governor HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa chaired a virtual meeting of the Security Committee yesterday, in the presence of his Deputy Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dussari, officers and representatives of security bodies.

The Southern Governor discussed holding an awareness campaign on the risks of fire that summer brings, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence and the Police Directorate. A detailed account of last Thursday’s Ma’ameer food warehouse fire case was presented by the Civil Defence Centre’s Riffa head Captain Walid Al Dhawadi.

He also covered the efforts in extinguishing a fire that broke out in a family’s home in Buhair in his briefing. The Southern Governor commended the Civil Defence personnel’s security readiness, rapid response and distinguished performance in putting out the blaze.

He pointed out the need to form a joint team to promote safety regulations in warehouses in the Southern Governorate.Additionally, he stressed on the need to bolster security monitoring by carrying out all pre-emptive procedures throughout the governorate and to increase safety and security measures for citizens.
