Housing Minister Eng. Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar paid an inspection visit to Al Salhiya village, alongside MP Sawsan Kamal, and several Ministry officials. Their visit follows the directives of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who issued the order while chairing this week’s Cabinet session.
The visit aims to identify the local citizens’ housing needs, and explore opportunities to provide a housing project from which the Al Salhiya villagers would benefit. While meeting the villagers, the Housing Minister said that HRH the Premier’s directives reflect his constant keenness to meet citizens’ aspirations, particularly in housing, given their importance in providing the requirements of stability and a decent life to them.
He pointed out that the government’s approach in social housing is based on identifying these needs and then translating them into work programmes that contribute to enhancing the comprehensive development march in the Kingdom. He added that his visit was a good opportunity to collect first-hand information on Al Salhiya’s requirements and decide the best ways to meet them, through the provision of housing projects, or including them in initiatives to be implemented by the Housing Ministry in the new towns.
He indicated that all the housing needs of Al Salhiya village will be included in the work plans of the Housing Ministry’s various directorates, in coordination with the relevant ministries and service authorities, noting that a detailed report on those needs will be submitted to the Cabinet, based on HRH Premier’s directives.
He affirmed that the Housing Ministry attaches equal attention to the demands of citizens in all the governorates, and seeks to meet them through its projects in the new towns, or the partnership initiatives with the private sector.
The Minister and the local villagers agreed to hold a meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters in the coming period to discuss their housing needs and demands. MP Kamal asserted that HRH the Premier is keen to meet the needs of all the citizens, and that ensuring decent housing for them tops his priorities, extending sincere thanks and gratitude to HRH the Prime Minister for his directives.
The representatives of Al Salhiya villagers extended their deepest thanks to HRH the Premier for directing to identify their housing requirements.
