Expatriates set to return to Odisha, India

Stranded expatriates hailing from the state of Odisha, India are all set to return from Bahrain today. An Air India flight is scheduled to leave from Bahrain International Airport to Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, carrying the expatriates.
Many people from the state were stranded due to the suspension of flight operations to India on account of the COVID -19 pandemic. This repatriation flight to Bhubaneswar arranged under the Vande Bharat Mission shall bring much-needed relief to the stranded expatriates from Odisha, said Tapan Mishra, President of Bahrain Odia Samaj.
He expressed his deep sense of gratitude to Government of India, Government of Odisha and the Indian Embassy in Bahrain for facilitating the return of the expatriates. “We are grateful to Government of Bahrain for extending necessary help to our diaspora in Bahrain,” said Susmita Rout, General Secretary, Bahrain Odia Samaj.
