Continuous observance of precautionary measures are ensured at the Manama Central market to ensure the safety of the traders there and the market’s smooth functioning, amid coronavirus pandemic, Capital Governorate officials assured.
Capital Municipality Council director-general Shawkiya Humaidan said the authority is adhering fully to all regulatory measures in effect at the market. Describing the security measures taken, Humaidan said a team of 35 people are engaged to clean and sterilise market facilities round the clock.
Market cleaning is done regularly from 5 am to 5 pm, and sanitisation from 5 pm to 10 pm, regularly. Vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish market sections are cleaned and sterilised with specialised equipment.
On air-conditioner maintenance, officials assured that the works would commence soon. “This, however, will not affect normal functioning as only a few units are affected,” officials said.
