Two more COVID-19 deaths; 527 new recoveries

The Ministry of Health has announced two more deaths from the coronavirus (COVID-19), including a 75-year-old Bahraini man and an 83-year-old Bahraini woman. Their passing brought the overall number of virus-related casualties in the Kingdom to 69. The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the victims’ families.

Meanwhile, it was announced early this morning that out of 8,735 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 508 new cases were detected.From these, 317 were expatriate workers, 189 were contacts of active cases, and two were travel-related. There were also 527 additional recoveries from the virus yesterday, the Health Ministry said.

After confirming that the patients were free of COVID-19, they were released from their respective isolation and treatment centres, bringing the total number of discharged in Bahrain to 17,977. The total number of current active cases reduced marginally to 5,524, of which 162 are receiving treatment, with 37 in critical condition. The remaining 5,487 cases are stable. The total tested increased to 502,763.
