COVID-19 takes five more lives; 736 new recoveries

The Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed five more lives in Bahrain. The deceased included a 44-year-old Bahraini man, along with four expatriate men aged 37, 44, 48 and 58. Their passing brought the overall number of coronavirus-related deaths in the Kingdom to 83, including 10 in just two days.
The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the victims’ families. Meanwhile, it was announced early this morning that out of 7,274 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 438 new cases were detected. From these, 279 were expatriate workers, 150 were contacts of active cases, and nine were travel-related. There were also 736 additional recoveries from the virus yesterday, the Health Ministry said.
After confirming that the patients were free of COVID-19, they were released from their respective isolation and treatment centres, bringing the total number of discharged in Bahrain to 20,517. The total number of current active cases went to 5,105, of which 74 are receiving treatment, with 41 in critical condition. The remaining 5,064 cases are stable. The total tested increased to 536,516.
