HM the King ratifies, issues laws

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday ratified and issued law 17 of 2020, amending the first clause of decree law 40 of 1999 on GCC nationals’ ownership of constructed properties and land plots in the Kingdom, following its endorsement by the Shura Council and Council of Representatives.

HM the King also ratified and issued law 18 of 2020, endorsing the Air Service Agreement between Bahrain and Spain, following its endorsement by the Shura Council and Council of Representatives. The deal was signed by the two countries at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organisation in Montreal in September of last year.

Meanwhile, HM the King ratified and issued law 19 of 2020, endorsing the protocol amending the agreement between the governments of Bahrain and Pakistan on avoiding double taxation and preventing fiscal evasion in relation to income taxes, following its endorsement by the Shura Council and Council of Representatives.

The protocol attached to this law was signed by the two countries in Islamabad in April of last year. HRH the Prime Minister and ministers, each in his jurisdiction, shall implement the provisions of the abovementioned laws, which shall come into effect a day after their publication in the Official Gazette.
