COVID-19 takes three more lives; 403 new recoveries

The Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed three more lives in Bahrain. The deceased included a 34-year-old Bahraini woman, along with two expatriate men aged 57 and 60. The 60-year-old patient was suffering from underlying and chronic health problems. Their passing brought the overall number of coronavirus-related deaths in the Kingdom to 87.
The Health Ministry expressed its condolences to the victims’ families. Meanwhile, it was announced early this morning that out of 9,114 COVID-19 tests conducted yesterday, 519 new cases were detected. From these, 293 were expatriate workers, 221 were contacts of active cases, and five were travel-related. There were also 403 additional recoveries from the virus yesterday, the Health Ministry said.
After confirming that the patients were free of COVID-19, they were released from their respective isolation and treatment centres, bringing the total number of discharged in Bahrain to 21,331. The total number of current active cases went to 5,340, of which 86 are receiving treatment, with 50 in critical condition. The remaining 5,290 cases are stable. The total tested increased to 554,239.
